trying, I promise

November 10, 2008

I had grand hopes of how I would make time to put together some really great posts during NaBlogPoMo. Not happening, is it?

Today has been spent washing clothes. Lots of them. Washing bedding. Lots of it. Some of it with purple goldfish on it. Half digested purple goldfish. Seriously, at what point do they have to stop calling something a goldfish that isn’t? Goldfish aren’t purple and never again does my child need to digest aforementioned purple goldfish. It just isn’t natural.

Sick

November 9, 2008

Barely making it today because my oldest is sick. Just hoping it was the bag of purple goldfish she devoured for dinner and not a real bug. I am not sure I have the disposition for a four person stomach virus.

lame o

November 7, 2008

I have been jobless for close to two months. I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish during my time off when I made the decision to leave my job. Here it is.

  1. Organize digital photos. I have thousands of photos on two different computers that are in no particular order.
  2. Create photo albums. Of those thousands of photos, I have printed out about 50 copies.
  3. Learn a photo editing program. My photography requires editing.
  4. Build my photography skills. I have a fancy camera and I need to learn to use it more effectively.
  5. Organize the girls’ toys. We have tons of toys that go untouched and I want to clear out our stash.
  6. Create a fun play space for them. I think if they have a more organized and appealing play space, they will play on their own more.
  7. Crochet a gift for XYZ’s baby boy. I have a friend who is like Martha Stewart. I got tons of handmade treasures and home cooked meals when my second was born. Her baby was born a month ago. I have given lots of gifts and delivered food but all has been store bought.
  8. Get a sewing machine that works. I want to learn to sew again. I have high hopes for making things.
  9. Start sewing dolls. See above comment regarding high hopes.
  10. Start exercising. I was good for about two weeks and haven’t exercised a day in the last month. My Wii Fit is going to scream at me. I scream when I get on a scale.
  11. Clean out garage. Winter is here and we need our garage back but it is full and so is our house.
  12. Get book shelves. If we have book shelves, we will have a place to put things that are in the boxes in the garage.

Not one thing has been accomplished. Lame o.

Today’s project

November 6, 2008

I am a queen of wasting time online. Seriously, I could sit on my computer all day. Today’s efforts have been on how to start a children’s clothing consignment store. I live in a neighborhood over run with kids of all ages and the closest consignment store is several neighborhoods away. I have a garage full of stuff to get rid of and I never get around to it but if there was a store in my neighborhood I could. Plus, with the economy I figure people will want to try to save money and make a little too.

Of course, I have no money to take something like this on but I will waste lots of time looking into the option.

Thank you, America

My children will never know anything different than the ability for a black man with a funny name to be President. Thank you, America, you make me so proud.
